Davinci: Genius
Immersive Touring Exhibition
When audiences enter Da Vinci: Genius, they step into an immersive space where Leonardo’s invention and curiosity are reborn. The exhibition blends large-scale projections, AI-driven storytelling and interactive surfaces, to honour his legacy in contemporary style. A world that reimagines the ideas of one of history’s greatest visionaries in a participatory format.
Behind the scenes, Evoke Studios played a pivotal role in ensuring the experience was not only spectacular, but also repeatable and reliable across multiple cities. Engineering a touring infrastructure that is as seamless as it is inspiring.

The Vision as Infrastructure
Da Vinci: Genius was conceived as an experience where technology and creativity would go hand-in-hand. Producers Phoenix Immersive set out to reimagine a historical icon using an exhibition platform that enabled art, science and storytelling to converge. They partnered with creative studio flora&faunavisions, whose content captured the depth and detail of Da Vinci’s work in striking form, alongside internationally acclaimed DJ and musician Sasha, who created an audio rhythm for the experience. Evoke Studios’ role was to take this blend of creativity and embed it within technical workflows, elevating a multimedia experience through advanced system architecture. The team provided comprehensive technical consultation, media server design and full deployment of video and sensor technologies. By building technical environments that anticipated creative needs, Evoke Studios stayed faithful to the concept but ensured the infrastructure could meet the demands of global touring.
Interactivity to Engage and Enlighten
One of the exhibition’s defining strengths is an ability to shift between narrative-driven sequences and open-ended interactivity. In guided modes, visitors experience curated storytelling chapters, triggered via touch or movement. In open play, the system lightly responds to exploration, tracking individual positions and connecting with gestures, to create personalised moments of discovery. This fluidity not only deepens immersion but also makes the experience uniquely engaging for each guest.
Evoke Studios’ technical collaboration with Stage Precision meant that audience movement could be captured and translated into responsive visual elements. Using highly refined calibration protocols, including plane and floor tracking, X-Y coordinate mapping and machine vision, visuals corresponded with the visitor’s location. These dynamic surfaces allowed for both fixed composition and spontaneity, creating a dialogue between visitor and exhibition.
Built for Global Impact
Da Vinci: Genius has run successfully in locations including Miami, Amsterdam, Mumbai, Delhi and Tallinn. The touring system was built with adaptability at its core, able to meet specific venue requirements, including different aspect ratios or spatial dimensions. Interactive elements were tested and refined in advance, enabling site installations to calibrate without compromise. This approach allowed the exhibition to operate in multiple modes, with the system adapting in real-time. From the outset, Evoke’s role was to translate creative intent into robust infrastructure. That meant providing detailed media system planning, specifying the Disguise GX3 servers at the heart of playback, and designing workflows that could support both pre-rendered and generative content. With a focus on responsiveness, Evoke built a technical architecture capable of operating in different venues while preserving the original creative essence.
Proactive, Partnership-Led Delivery
Evoke Studios’ approach is defined by collaboration and foresight. For Da Vinci: Genius, the team didn’t just respond to technical requests, they anticipated what was needed and gave creative partners confidence to push their ideas even further.
The role of Evoke Studios is to sit at the intersection of creativity and engineering. Whether identifying possible limitations or optimising workflows pre-installation, the team often solves challenges through a proactive ethos. As Co-Founder and Technical Director, Kristaps Liseks notes; “It’s about giving the creative team the freedom to think big, knowing that the systems will perform under pressure.”
A Modern Tribute to a Renaissance Genius
By designing a touring system that is technically rigorous yet creatively open, Evoke Studios has helped shape the Da Vinci: Genius exhibition. Visitors go beyond simply observing Da Vinci’s inventions and artworks, they play a part in them through surfaces that respond to their touch, and projections that shift their perspective. This interpretation of Leonardo’s vision opens up new possibilities for the future of Artertainment. With the genius of Da Vinci reframed through modern technology, in ways he might well have imagined himself.
