AIM Awards 2020

The Independent Music Awards (AIMs), organised by the Association for Independent Music, celebrate the best in independent music. EVOKE Studios is proud to be Category Sponsor for the Pioneer Award this year, which was won by Little Simz.

EVOKE was approached with the request to sponsor the awards with XR (Extended Reality) treatments for a number of performances seen during the awards and for the presenter states seen throughout. We worked on songs for AJ Tracey feat. MoStack – Dinner Guest, with creative direction by TAWBOX, and for Little Simz – Pressure.

Collaborating closely with the AIM production team, and DesignScene who created the idents for the awards, we created a sophisticated translation into volumetric space. The end result delivered broadcast quality virtual environments enabling an award show experience not seen before.

All XR looks created in Notch, played back via disguise GX2C servers and tracked via Mo-Sys StarTracker automation.

Our team also provided most motion graphics witnessed throughout the show, from Category and Winner videos, to social media clips and stream loops.
